Blackacre backs 'have a heart'

Blackacre Farm Eggs of North Cheriton, Somerset is donating 2p from every sale of its 6 Large Free Range eggs to 'have a heart' for the next three months. The charity works to help build a better future for children living in Westcountry communities.

Dan Wood from Blackacre Farm Eggs comments: "As a local family business we are delighted to be involved with "have a heart" and we hope our support will help young people in the Westcountry to get a great start in life. We felt that we wanted to give something back to the area that has helped our business grow and helping young people in our communities seemed like a great way to do it. I was fortunate to grow up on Blackacre Farm and I've been able to work within the family business that my dad Tim started 30 years ago. I really appreciate the importance of family and having a full and happy childhood but not every child has such a positive start in life. The "have a heart" charity offer practical help to children and we really support its work.

Blackacre Farm Free Range Eggs has this week rolled out its first re-brand to its packaging since Tim and Judy Wood started producing fresh, quality eggs in 1979, but the trademark green egg boxes will remain. The 6 Large Free Range Egg packs will also feature the "have a heart" logo until the end of September.

Dan Wood continues: "The new packaging has been designed to reflect the importance of Westcountry family farming to Blackacre. I'm featured on the pack at Blackacre Farm with our hens to give people an idea of exactly where their free range eggs come from. We aim to raise at least

Blackacre gets 'cracking' at Asda

Blackacre Farm Eggs is delighted to announce that its free-range eggs are now available locally in seven Asda stores. Blackacre has been producing fresh, award-winning eggs in the Westcountry for 30 years and this is the first time it has supplied its eggs to a major national retailer.

Dan Wood from Blackacre Farm comments: 'We already supply over 700 customers throughout the South West with our free-range eggs and going into one of the major supermarkets is a huge step in the right direction for Blackacre. The move will ensure that Asda shoppers in this area are able to buy fresh and delicious free-range eggs laid by hens roaming in Westcountry fields.'

Blackacre Farm Eggs is a family-run company and all its free-range eggs are laid either on Blackacre Farm at North Cheriton, or on one of the other local, family-run farms that the Company works with; hand picked by Blackacre for their similar family values. Eggs from Blackacre are now available from the Yeovil, Frome, Bridgwater, Taunton, Weston Super Mare, Highbridge and Trowbridge Asda stores.

Dan continues: 'At Blackacre Farm we pack and distribute all our own eggs and our move into Asda is not only great news for shoppers looking to buy the very best Westcountry eggs, but also for our team of packers and drivers at Blackacre Farm and the local family farms that we work with. We have always believed that healthy happy hens will produce healthy and delicious eggs, and the move into Asda stores is testament to the years of hard work that we have put into maintaining this ethos.'
